Tested By Fire Project

Accompanied by Joe and Amber's new puppy (Layla), we managed to record another song this weekend.

We have now decided to skip the EQ and mixing process and leave all of that for the end. This allows us to get more up front recording done.

After another long day of recording and mixing, we have yet another song to put to the test.

My next task is to record a piano part. This will be a first! I hope that it goes well. Good thing there are no limit to the amount of takes you can do...

I played our 3 song demo for my piano teacher and he thought it was awesome. He said that it was a lot better than he expected it to be. I took it as a compliment because I imagine that many people bring him their material and expect him to make some kind of comment. But, this is a serious CD project for sure. He had very positive things to say and thought that Matt's drums sounded awesome, which is a total boost of confidence! I think they sound awesome too.

Well, we burned our second CD. We have three songs that are basically completed. However, it is always best to burn a CD and play it in multiple CD players to determine whether the volume and mixing is appropriate. So far, the voices sound a little unbalanced. But, everything else is great and I think it can be easily fixed. One day, maybe we'll put an officially updated "track listing" on here.
